Dr. Tobias Engelmeier is the founder and CEO of VIDA.place GmbH. With more than 15 years of experience in entrepreneurship, renewable energy, energy access in emerging markets, and international development, he has been shaping VIDA’s vision from the very beginning.

Under his leadership, VIDA has developed an innovative, map-based software tool that helps infrastructure investors worldwide assess climate and site risks, measure impact, and meet ESG reporting requirements. For this work, VIDA has been supported by the European Space Agency, received the German Innovation Award for Climate and Environment, and was nominated for the prestigious Earthshot Prize.

Previously, Tobias Engelmeier founded Bridge To India and TFE Africa. His work is driven by the ambition to make infrastructure investments sustainable, inclusive, and impactful – particularly in regions that remain disconnected from the power grid.
